Besides my own designed images I also use stock images. All stock images used have been licensed from a stock image website. The copyright of all stock images used is owned by the stock image site/contributing photpgrapher and/or artist. The price for a standard license is included in the cover price. Please note, you are not purchasing the stock image(s), you are purchasing the design "Art 4 Artists" created by using these stock image(s). But you, the customers, are bound and responsible to use the purchased design within the allowance and restrictions that the stock image license entails. All covers created and rendered with images by "Art 4 Artists" have no restrictions to the number of prints or usage on websites. What you may do and what you may not do...
Is the cover I buy unique?
Yes! For many of my covers I use my own created images. When I use licensed stock images I will make sure the cover is unique by using at least 2 images, different elements and/or artistic techniques.
What means 'Exclusive'?
'Exclusive' means I didn't use any licensed or non-licensed stock image to create this cover. I created the cover just for you.
Can I use one cover for multiple books,
a book series or different audio
CDs / DVDs?
In general yes, but only on request. I need this information together with your order.
If you decide to use your single cover for a series later, minor changes to the text can be made for a small fee for each additional cover. Major changes can be made also, but a much higher fee will apply. Because of violation of the copyrights you are not allowed to make the changes by yourself.
Can I have a file with layers for Photoshop or similar so I can edit the image myself?
It depends on who is purchasing the licenses for the images. Because of copyrights those licenses are not transferable. If I created the cover with my own material and you would like to purchase the book cover with layers, we have to negotiate a price.
I changed my mind and I want another book cover or other design. Is it possible?
In general yes, but only when I didn't much work on the current cover or other design.
If you change your mind after I finished the cover or other design and you already approved it, the price for a complete new design will apply. I can always make some changes to the current cover as long it doesn't exceed the price of our contract. If I have to purchase more stock images an additional fee will apply.
What if I lose or delete my downloaded files by accident?
You are responsible for all your files, but in case of an accident you can order a copy.
What if I bring my own images?
No problem, but you have to proof that the image is your property or you purchased a license. For public domain images I need the URL link where the image was downloaded. I DON'T accept free images with people on it without written model release.
What does the price on your
pre-designed cover preview includes?
The price on the preview is for ebooks only. It includes the changes to the text but it doesn’t include the additional work for e.g. book cover for print.
I want covers designed for a series of books or audio CDs / DVDs. Can I get a package price?
In general yes, but only when I can create those covers in a short period of time. Means I have to create those covers within 3 months. If it is a long term period from 3 months up to years, single prices will apply and a contract has to be made for each cover. Ask for more information on different situations.
I bought an ebook cover from you a while ago. Now I need the cover for print.
If you purchased the cover through me, I can create the print cover for an additional fee.
You are not allowed to create the print cover by your own without permission!
I bought a cover from you, but I changed my mind about the title.
Can you help me?
After your final approval and cover deliverey an additional fee applys for minor changes to the text and preparing new images for download.
Do I have to pay for the image licenses in addition to your cover design?
The price for standard licenses is included for pre-designed and custom covers. If you intend to sell t-shirts or other merchandise with your cover, an extended license must be purchased. Extended licenses are NOT included in my cover prices!
Note: An extended license has to be purchased for every image I used or have to use in the cover. If I have to use stock images from websites other than Depositphotos.com I will add the additional fee to the cover price.
How can I pay?
International payments can be made through PayPal. An additional 4% transaction fee of the total is due. Those transaction fees are subject to change. You will receive the information together with the contract and/or invoice. There are also direct deposits into a bank account possible.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No, not anymore, because emails are good enough as contract. So it is important that all information I get about an order comes through email, not Facebook or other social media websites. Detailed information are on the invoice.
I want to purchase one of your
pre-designed covers, but I need some changes.
No problem! Minor changes and changes to the text and font are possible and in the price included. For major changes custom cover prices and rules will apply.
When I bought a cover, is it my property and can I do what I want with it?
It depents on the contract between us. You may use the cover for ebooks, prints, audio CD/DVD's. You may use the purchased image for bookmarks, flyer or other promotional material with the intention to give it away for free. You may not use the images for mugs, calendars or similar mass products. The copyright is ALWAYS! "Yvonne Less © Art 4 Artists". You are not allowed to claim the design as your own! You may NOT change the design yourself or take out some elements to create your own cover or other material. That would be a violation of copyrights. Please read the copyright information at the top of this page.
Are the images you use licensed?
Of course. You are allowed to use any stock image for up to 500,000 times including ebook, print version, internet presence, gifts and more. After that you have to pay an extended license for each stock image used.
After publishing my book as print version, the cover doesn't look like the original image. What can I do?
To create a print cover I have to follow rules in regards of dimensions and colours. I make sure that all images comply with those rules. After the delivery I don't take any liability for errors or misprints in regards of colours or general quality. If the print doesn't look like the way you expected you have to complain about it to the publisher/print office.
Do I have to pay in advance?
For custom covers and promotional material you have to pay a nonrefundable 50% of the total price before I start to work. The balance is due before the delivery.
For pre-designed covers you have to pay 100% in advance before I make minor changes to the text or other elements.
